BOARD OF DIRECTORS
The Lakeland District for Sport, Culture and Recreation is a volunteer based non-profit organization. The Board of Directors are responsible for developing the Mission, Vision and Values of the organization. They set the policies and procedures that govern the organization and develop the strategic plan that guides the Lakeland District in what we do.

Guylaine Green
Guylaine hails from Rosthern and became a Board Member of LDSCR in 2019. With a business background, she has dedicated over a decade to the field of recreation. Currently, she serves as the Administrator for both the Twin Rivers District and the Sask Valley Hospital Foundation. Guylaine is a proud mother of three and a grandmother to one, with another grandchild expected soon!

Brandy Smart
​Brandy joined the LDSCR Board in 2024. With a Kinesiology degree from the University of Saskatchewan, she has worked in sport, culture, and recreation across Northern Saskatchewan and now runs her own business, be smart communications. Passionate about community, Brandy volunteers with local organizations, coaches her son’s U9 soccer team, and enjoys gardening and family time in the Lakeland area.

Curtis Olsen
Curtis initially became a member of the LDSCR Board in 2009, serving as chairperson from 2011 to 2015, and returned to the Board in 2020. He holds Bachelor of Kinesiology with a minor in Psychology from the University of Regina. Currently, he is employed by the City of Prince Albert as the Sport & Manager.

Ken Trofimuk
Ken became a Board Member of the LDSCR in 2021. He is a highly regarded and recognized athlete, coach, and volunteer in the field of weightlifting from Saskatchewan. Over the years, Ken has participated in various committees in different roles and capacities. He and his wife Debbie reside in Prince Albert.

Shannon joined the LDSCR board in 2023. She has a background education in Recreation and Community Development and is certified in National Asset Management. Currently, Shannon serves as the Recreation and Aquatics Manager for the City of Melfort.

Lisa Braun
Board Member
Lisa became a member of the LDSCR board in 2024. She holds a M.Ed. in Kinesiology/Education from University of Saskatchewan Since the fall of 2016, Lisa has been employed by the Town of Hepburn, where she focuses on recreation, programs, volunteer management, and economic development. Passionate about working with volunteers, she enjoys helping them realize their dreams and ideas. In her spare time, Lisa enjoys, coffee outings, writing poetry, and giving creative gifts.

Scott Burgess
Board Member
Scott, a proud member of the Montreal Lake Cree Nation, has dedicated over 25 years to working with Indigenours Communities in Alberta and Saskatchewan. An alumnus of the U of A, he is passionate about promoting Indigenous sovereignty in government, health, culture, education, and business.
Scott and his wife, Bobbi-Jo, have been together for 20 years and share two children: Brielle, a Registered Nurse, and Kael, a student in the U of S ITEP program.
A founding member of Team Woodland, Scott actively supports young athletes in the Tony Cote Games and has served as a coach, chaperone, and Athletes Coordinator for various provincial games.

Andrea Logan

Andrea became a member of the LDSCR board in 2024. Originally from Porcupine Plain, SK, she currently lives there with her husband and three daughters. For the past decade, Andrea has been employed at the Tisdale Dental Group in Tisdale. She earned her education at the University of Alberta and NAIT in Edmonton, AB.

Heather Emro
Board Member
Heather is a proud member of the Mosquito Grizzly Bear’s Head Lean Man First Nation. Rooted in the Northeast where she was raised, Heather has built her life in Melfort, where she enjoys raising her three children. She brings experience from the Justice and Corrections field and now supports her community through her work at a local law firm. Heather values connection, family, and contributing to the wellbeing of the place she calls home.
